This simple app will rescan your media for new files that happens on a system re-boot usually.
It only calls the android media scanner. THAT'S IT.
Your screen will go black for a second coz the app auto quits on completion.
No MALWARE. What permissions does it use?

Works great. I use it with Tasker to rescan after I use Dropbox. Not a terribly elegant solution, but it works.
