Choice Dialer delivers superior hands-free control to Android, allowing you to use voice confirmation (Android 1.6 and above) or a more lax confidence threshold (Android 1.5) to avoid having to visually and manually confirm your commands:

"Call Jim Harris at Mobile"
"Shuffle play music by Green Day"
"Send email to Bob Jones at work"
"Disable Bluetooth"
"Remind me to call Jim Harris on March 3rd at 2 in the afternoon"
"Find contact for Ellen Smith"

The focus is on those commands where voice is far faster than the visual/tactile UI, but the new hands-free mode makes Android much more viable when you cannot divert your attention to the screen.

The speech recognizer is US English only, but should serve many UK English speakers well. You may wish to first verify the recognition with the free version.

Incredibly useful idea but -1 star b/c it can't understand 'Open dgAlert Classic', -2 more b/c from long press on phn btn it just beeps at me & quits.

Programmer will not refund my money. Do not DOWNLOAD!!! Has not responded to any of my emails. Title also misleading, it does not work via bluetooth.

amazingly useful and accurate. dev was EXTREMELY quick to fix a minor bug. don't know how I used my droid without this!
